OVERVIEW
Association of Hong Kong Diabetes Nurses Ltd (AHKDN) is the leading academic and professional association for Diabetes Educators and Nurses in Hong Kong. In late 1980, a group of pioneer diabetes nurses in Hong Kong established the Diabetes Educators Group (DEG) under Diabetes Division of Hong Kong Society of Endocrinology, Metabolism and Reproduction (HKSEMR). In more than 10 years time, number of diabetes nurses in Hong Kong has grown a lot who formed its own association as AHKDN in year 2008.
All along, our association aims at promoting the standard of diabetes care in Hong Kong for over 700,000 people suffered from diabetes mellitus. AHKDN organizes various educational activities so as to update the knowledge and skills of both healthcare professionals as well as people with diabetes, their carers; promoting the culture of self-management of chronic disease in Chinese.
