Membership Cycle

Membership cycle: 1 April to 31 March
Grace period: 1 April to 30 June
Administration fee: Imposed for late membership renewals on or after 1 July

Members are required to subscribe the membership fee annually.

Qualification of Members:

1. Ordinary member:

Any Registered Nurses of the Nursing Board of Hong Kong who has completed diabetes care specialty training recognized by the Association and has been engaged in work related to diabetes care at the time of first application, shall be eligible to apply for an ordinary member. Ordinary member shall have the right to hold office as a Councilor, to vote and to receive notice of all general meetings of Association.

2. Associate member
Any Registered / Enrolled / Student Nurses of the Nursing Board of Hong Kong shall be eligible to apply for an associate membership who has the right to receive notice of all general meetings of the Association but have no right to vote or hold office as a Councilor.

3. Affiliated member

Any registered medical or paramedical staff who shows interest in diabetes care shall be eligible to apply for an affiliated membership who have the right to receive notice of all general meetings of the Association but have no right to vote of to hold office as a Councilor.

Every candidate for membership of the Association shall be recommended by at least one Ordinary Member of the Association. Application for admission must be made in writing signed by the candidate and countersigned by the recommending Ordinary Member and addressed to the Head of Membership. The Councilors shall have the absolute powder to refuse any application for membership without giving any reason therefore.

4. Senior Member

Any Ordinary Member who attained the age of 60 can apply to become a Senior Member. A Senior Member shall have the same rights as an Ordinary Member.

Rejoined Membership

with overdue membership fee payment with payment not received after 30 Jun for the year just ended
with an extended period of unpaid membership

New Member Admission Fee and Annual Subscription Fee

Admission Fee:

HK$ 500 (for ordinary member)
HK$ 250 (for associate/affiliated member)

Annual Subscription Fee:

HK$ 150 (for ordinary member)
HK$ 100 (for associate/affiliated member)

Annual due date = 1st day of April every year. If subsequent annual subscription fee is not received by 30th June, the defaulting member is deemed to have resigned from membership and need to pay administrative fee again if s/he wants to rejoin the Association.
